Levi's Guinness World Record Attempt
Hi there!
Levi here! On July 15th, 2023, I will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest single event triathlon. The current record is 226 miles and I will be attempting 240 miles consisting of 7 miles of swimming, 186 miles of biking and 47 miles of running. It will be a continuous effort with 5 minute breaks every hour. If breaks are not used during the hour, it does not accumulate.
I will be starting with the swim portion in Lake St. Louis around 4-4:30am completing 2 mile loops about 3 times then riding the levee/Centaur Rd doing a 30 mile segment a few times ending my ride at Swim Bike Run’s parking lot around 4:30-5pm. We will have a food truck out, all the companies and people involved and the local tri community out there. The first 3 miles of the run will be open to the public. I will be doing a 3.4 mile loop around SBR at a 10-11 minute/mile pace so everyone is welcome to join me there either running or biking next to me. The run will be 47 miles totalling the distance of 240 miles.
With this attempt, I am raising money for Pedal the Cause in honor of my mom who was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was younger. Luckily she won and has been cancer free ever since but that’s not always the case for others which is why I decided to raise money and awareness for Pedal the Cause. They are a non profit organization who donates 100% of the money raised to fund cancer research to hopefully find a cure for cancer. Pedal the Cause will be out at Swim Bike Run on the day of the attempt with an information tent where you can learn more about them and what they do and you can also donate in person there.
Throughout the day, there will be updates on my personal Instagram (@levi_fitness1), Kota Nutrition’s Instagram (@kotanutrition) and my Facebook page if you would like to follow along!
